Searching for a home in Frederick County Maryland?

Frederick Maryland is the third largest city in the state and the County Seat of Frederick County.  It’s got a great location about an hour away from Baltimore and from Washington D.C., forming the third corner of a Maryland City triangle.

The City of Frederick is surrounded by the rolling hills of Central Maryland with scenic views of pastoral farmland. From the award-winning Historic District, with the acclaimed Carroll Creek Linear Park as its centerpiece, to the famous “Clustered Spires” and historic sites, Frederick offers all the amenities of a small city and yet has maintained all the friendliness and charm of a large town.

Frederick has become known for its great dining, its unique and plentiful shopping venues, and its historic and cultural activities. It is fast becoming known for its commitment to the Arts, with a number of Art Galleries and Dance and Theater companies. Civil War buffs will find plenty to see in the city as well as the surrounding areas with the Civil War Museum, Monocacy Battlefield, and nearby Gettysburg and Antietam National Battlefields. Area attractions include the Frederick Key’s, our Triple A baseball team, the Weinberg Theater and the MET, as well as Way Off Broadway Diner Theater.

Frederick Md History

Fredericktowne, originally laid out in 1745 and settled by German immigrants, is rich in Colonial and Civil War History. The city served as a major crossroads from colonial times. It served as a place to house Hessian soldiers in the War for Independence. During the Civil War, the many downtown churches served as hospitals for the wounded soldiers from several battles surrounding Frederick. From these beginnings, Frederick grew to an important market town, and Mining became an important industry in the 19th Century.  See more Frederick History

If you are looking for a short term rental for the Holidays, I would suggest an extended stay hotel, we have several in Frederick Md. It’s difficult to find a private home that will only rent for 1 or 2 months.
Thanks for asking:)

Karen and Chris, what a nice blog post. I consider Frederick my “sister city.” We have a cancer center in Louisville too (University of Louisville’s James Graham Brown Cancer Center).

Carroll Creek looks pretty in this picture with the bridge.

We’ve been wanting to visit DC and Baltimore for a couple of years now. Our aunt and uncle live in Baltimore, plus I’ve never seen the ocean, plus DC for obvious reasons of course. I’m glad you said that it was only an hour away – I didn’t think it would be too far since Maryland’s not a big state. I can’t wait to visit the Triangle!
